Elara Village Shopping Centre, located in Sydney’s northwest, is home to 18 new retail shops, including a Coles supermarket (open daily from 6 am to 10 pm) and Liquorland. Due to the extended opening hours, the exterior lighting was an important consideration to ensure the comfort and safety of visitors. A linear product was selected to align with the timber feature ceiling used throughout the trafficable areas of the centre.
At 48mm in width, Downhill Dan 22 is XD Profiles widest profile, making it an appropriate fit for this ceiling detail; situated perfectly between the timber battens. The staggered configuration adds further interest to a striking feature ceiling.
After some deliberation, Twin 4W LED Strips were used to provide a pleasant and homogenous light output, while subtly adding to the functional light levels of the space. Given the location of the installation, the IP65 LED strip was selected to provide protection against the weather.
Our XD Profiles range is entirely made to order in our manufacturing facility on the Central Coast NSW. With quick turnaround times required, this played an important role in the success of the project. Manufacturing to custom lengths also allowed us to eliminate all ‘dark spots’ at each end of the profile, achieving the aesthetic intent of the project.
