The concept of 'POP Culture' for Saturday Indesign was developed around the emergence of POP-up trends and Up-cycling trends: Pop up bars, restaurants, galleries and retail stores set up in disused spaces.
Light Culture and Warwick Fabrics collaborated with Cafe' Culture for the day's event and shared the showroom space to display new and select product ranges.
In celebration of the Up-cycling trend, a competition was held where Designers and students were invited to participate in creating a new product (furniture, light or fabric item) out of revamped materials. The top 10 finalists were displayed in the showroom on the day and all the Saturday Indesign attendees had the opportunity to cast their favourite vote. Indesign assisted in judging the final 10 entrants, and the winners were announced at 4pm. 1st prize Bose Beosound docking station went to Peter Watson for his 'Diesel Lights' and 2nd prize Apple I-Pad went to Stephanie Teddy Loho and Stephanie Qui for their 'Pen de Light'.
