The architect and lighting designer sought to accent the timber awning on the ground level with a soft warm light. This was achieved using the ETC310-FS inground uplight from WE-EF with a medium beam optic and 3000K in colour temperature.
The challenge was to get enough light out of a luminaire with a small aperture and the WE-EF ETC310 was the only product that could meet the requirements at only ø110mm.
The other defining feature of this building is the walkthrough from Underwood Street to George Street. This whole space is surrounded by glazing which greatly restricted mounting positions. The SLIM from CASTALDI was chosen for its discreet size, which matches the width of the mullions perfectly and gives the appearance the luminaires are 'floating' at night.
